Kia ora my name is Angelina today I will be writing about my year 8 camp. The people who went were us year 8 kids,some teachers and some parents. What was the reason we went your asking, the reason why was because although our school has house captains and prefects but some teachers had seen other people leading that weren’t us house captains or perfects. The whole point of this camp was to lead with pride and lead through service. The place we went to was  kauaeranga valley and there on each side of the place was just mountains so when you would look to the right there were mountains but when you look to the left there were mountains,so pretty much when the sun goes down and can get to 1 degrees which is really cold for us since we were from auckland and most of us were used to the cold. 

My first highlight was the cross games.The cross games were so fun.All of us were playing in our house colours which are green,blue,red and yellow. My team is yellow which is the best team out of all the house colours. The games we would play would be where we rip off tags from other house colours and put them in the middle whoever had the most they would win. The other game was we would get in 3 lines the strongest on the outside and the bravest in the middle and they would give us a mat and there was a big donut in the middle of the court. The person in the middle would sit on top of the mat and the two strongest on the outside would drag the person on the mat and when they would come back the 3 next people would go on and so on. There were other games as well but the other ones were kinda boring. 

My second highlight would be the go karts. The go carts were all good, nothing much happened. It was kinda fast but there was only 1 go kart so all of us would have to wait which is why it kinda sucked but the only reason I liked the go karts was because I was drifting. I got a few turns on it and Mr Jay had time for me and since I was drifting it took me kinda long. We all had 2 laps each so that made it worse because we only had 1 go kart so it took forever. 

My third highlight was archery because I got a bullseye and I got an extra turn before we moved on to our next rotation and because we won 100 points because  he said if we got three bullseye we would get one hundred points and we got all three.

I think that camp was a great experience because we got to spend time together as year 8 for our last year and  go some were new  and do something fun for once .
